LSBMWR Whitewright Breakfast Ride
April 20, 2008
I earned ride points on Saturday after painting 4 of our new raised panel doors for the house, so I cashed in a few to go out with the group on Sunday’s breakfast ride.
David joined me for his first ride with the club. |
The weather was cool in the morning, and I should have worn my liner. I was looking a little too far forward to warmer weather on the return, so I packed light.
We met at Prosper and and snaked our way up to Tioga, through Sherman, and down the twisty 697 to Whitewright.
697 is always both a challenge and a pleasure to ride. | |
We had a good-sized group for breakfast, and once again, the food was great. Especially the grilled biscuits. |
Bo shared with me that he was accepted into the 2009 Iron Butt Rally. |
~11,000 miles in 11 days.
David and I headed straight south until Blue Ridge, where we took the back roads through Princeton and Lucas back home. A bit windy, but a very enjoyable 170 miles on a nice Sunday morning. And a great way to finish up the Sunday evening is watching the Stars defeat the defending Stanley Cup Champion Ducks 4-1 to advance to the 2nd round!!!
An excellent blog and that dude on the red Yamaha is baaaaaaaaddddddd.
I was at the breakfast as well. I ride a Blue Triumph Trophy and was there with a couple of Beemer guys. I love your site. I have added it to my moto links. Great stuff!
Thanks for the compliment. It’s fun writing up the rides, and photography fits nicely with motorcycling.
