Tour de Moto Shops

May 21, 2011

The Lone Star BMW Riders is always coming up with activities to promote motorcycle riding.  Today was a family fun day with stops at local motorcycle establishments and ending up at the Bavarian Grill.  The plan was to visit up to 10 pre-determined motorcycle shops, gather the evidence in the form of a ticket for each, and present these tickets at the grill for chances to win a yet-to-be-determined prize.  Hopefully it is a new BMW K 1600 GTL.  Whatever…  It’s a good excuse to ride…

The air was very damp as I left the house to head to downtown Dallas to start my route.  Mist was covering the face shield, and I was not sure how the rest of the day was going to be with the weather.  But as I rode west to Fort Worth, the clouds cleared, and the temperature rose.  As I headed back east to North Dallas, the clouds were thick again, and the temperature dropped noticeably.  But all in all, it was a good day of touring the moto shops, and better was the time spent with my riding partners at the Bavarian Grill.

We gathered at the Bavarian Grill to review the documentation and celebrate with each other.  A very good day!
