LSBMWR RTE – Chickasaw

September 20, 2008

The Lone Star BMW Riders Annual Ride to Eat Cookout was at Chickasaw National Recreation Area today in Sulphur, OK.  Over 100 club members and guests made their way up to the park in spectacular weather.  The temperature was in the 60’s early morning and hardly broke 80 during the afternoon.  There was no wind all day long, which made for great riding conditions.   We rode together past Turner Falls and a back road to Chickasaw to the shelter for the cookout.

I left on a solo ride from my house and meandered up through some roads I have not tried, and stumbled across the 2nd club ride group at Dickson.
I saw Alan’s vest from far away. Turner Falls Overlook

On the ride home, I made a short trip off of Hwy 78 in Oklahoma to visit Fort Washita, from the mid-1800’s.

Looks like everyone had a great time today, and the burgers, dogs, and brat were tasty.
